Modern Language Association(MLA) format is a popular and well analyzed style guide is being followed by all leading institutions. A research paper written in English must be strictly follow this formatting style. Hence this article helps you with basic and necessary rules to follow while writing any research works. Important things to follow:
1. Documents or the each page must have 1 inch space in all the four sides.
2. Font style should be in Times New Romans & Font size should be 12 points.
3. Each lines should be double spaced.
4. Title should be in Bold with double spaced.
5. Page number should be in the top right along with the last name of the author.
6. The book, novel, poem or play name you mention in your paper should be in italic style.
7. The citations must be followed with the book name and page number.
Work Cited:
8. In work cited, order the source in alphabetical order of the last name of the author.
9. You should specify the medium of every source. For example, Print, Web, Newspaper etc.
10. Online references should be mentioned with the URL and the date you accessed or referred the e-material.
