Robert Browning - Victorian Poet

A master in Dramatic Monologue, Robert Browning was born in London on May 7, 1812. As he got encouraging support from his family he published his first work 'Paracelsus' in 1835. But his second work 'Sordello' faced many criticism and leads unsuccessful work of him. 





In the 1860s, he worked hard and published Dramatis Personae, had both edition, First and Second. In 1868-69, and another popular work he published the 12-volume 'The Ring and the Book', which many critics trust to be his greatest work, and which gives him  the poet popularity for the first time.

Then comes his next great work, A Children's poem, one of Robert Browning’s biggest successes named “The Pied Piper of Hamelin.” Published in Dramatic Lyrics in 1842, the poem was not one that Browning deemed consequential; however it is one of his most famous. This one later adapted into a movie.

He writes in a variety of history periods and most of his works based on these elements- Dark humor, Social commentary, irony and Challenging vocabulary.  He married Elizabeth Barrett in 1845,  who is also one among great poet of Victorian era. And she was died in 1861 until her death both Mr & Mrs. Browning lived in Italy. Later Browning died in 1889.
