Writing A Literature Review

Literature Review - What's that?

In general, Literature review is a scholarly paper which has written with sound understanding and analysis of a specific work that have  to be based on a piece of literature or a book. We can say it as a secondary source that speak about the nook and corner of a work after the completion of necessary researches. If you are a beginner to the field of literature, knowing the details about review writing is essential which indeed helps to widen your way of understanding any literature work. We can call it as a summary or description but exactly not in the ordinary form but with several structures.



What is Purpose of Writing a Review?

1. The foremost purpose is to convey the established ideas and knowledge to the readers.

2. It helps to accomplish sound knowledge in the field of inquiry.

3. This also helps to find new approaches and aids to narrow the problems.

4. To state the opinion or perspective of a specific work which helps the reader to view it multi-dimensional.

5.  The insights of the work can be taken to all the readers and it will create a path to the core. 

The Process of Literature Review

Step 1: Define the question of your research which means select  a topic

Step 2: The scope of your review: How many studies do you wish to work?

Step 3: Choosing the database for example: Worldcat. In order to find source relevant to your topic

Step 4: Keep the track of your research: Concentrate on the objective of the literature carefully. 

Step 5: Review your review




It is very useful to refer other popular reviews before starting your work. One has to follow the proper formatting styles like MLA( Modern Language Association).
